About This Adventure

No electricity. No road. No other way in but on foot. The Berggasthaus Obersteinberg is one of the most extraordinary places to spend a night in Switzerland — a historic mountain inn deep in the upper Lauterbrunnen Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Area, with front-row views of the thousand-foot Schmadribach waterfall.

Dinner is communal, served at long tables, with candles on the walls. Rooms have porcelain washbasins, thick duvets, and waterfall views. Run by the same family for generations.

Your private hike is led by Laura or one of her trained local guides, accompanying you to the hut on day one and back to Mürren the following morning.
