Sprutz Waterfall via North Face Trail
Everything the North Face Trail offers, plus one of the most dramatic waterfall experiences in the Alps. After passing through alpine meadows and mountain farms, you branch off the main trail and descend through forest to the Sprutz waterfall — and then walk directly under it. It's loud, wet and completely unforgettable. After the waterfall you can return to Mürren (about 40 mins) or continue down to Gimmelwald and take the cable car back up. The waterfall detour adds about 30 minutes to the standard North Face Trail.
Highlight
Walking under the Sprutz waterfall itself — bring a jacket, you will get wet!
Laura's Tip
Best in early summer when snowmelt makes the falls roar. By September the volume drops significantly. If you go in June the power of the water is honestly unreal.
Start
Allmendhubel funicular station, Mürren
Getting There
